Let’s Save R&B

     I understand that barely anything remains the same while some believe nothing lasts forever.  I say with nothing but love that some things should either stay the same or never lose elements that make that thing what it truly is. More so, when something as powerful as music possesses elements that strongly advocates and spreads love, that kind of music should be preserved. R & B is that kind of music.  It has strong elements of love. It should be saved.

     Love heals, love protects, love elevates, love units and still, love conquers all. If we have music that accomplishes so many great things, then why don’t we try to save it for all those great reasons? R & B has its unique way of changing our mood, spirit and minds just as good music should. Over decades R&B has helped mend relationships. It has been a notable reminder to couples of why they first got together and why they should remain together. It is that kind of music that can transform a day of complete sadness into one that bursts with cheer. It comforts.

     R & B comes directly from the heart, a place where love resides. It is therefore pure.  Added to its purity is its soulfulness where true feelings and emotions are expressed. How real! This realness gives greater purpose and meaning to music. Unfortunately, the presence of R & B is not as strong as it once was, but it should be. There are many things that lack meaning yet exists. Why don’t we save something that means something? Let’s save R&B.
